To emphasize the porch veranda on this home, the Lake Geneva landscapers of Arbor Earth & Stone had to select plants which wouldn’t overgrow. We selected only shrubs and plantings which would be easy for the homeowners to maintain. Taller plants were avoided to prevent their growth blocking the view from the many windows in the house. Now, the family can enjoy the view from anywhere in their house.
Further, we created a seating area outside the master bedroom’s French doors. Using a small retaining wall, this elevated seated area is enclosed by more small shrubs to make a private alcove. This outdoor living space allows the homeowners a shaded area to enjoy hot summer days separate from the main porch area.
